CHN/ SYR – China walk out; Syria win by forfeit
TEHRAN (FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Men): Syria defeated defending champions China 20-0, when the latter walked out of the Group I Quarterfinal round game on Sunday.
With 6:13 left in the third quarter, and the score reading 46-41 in their favour, China coach Li Chunjiang led the team out disputing a Technical Foul slapped on him.
The Match Commissioner Jafarian Nosratollah tried to calm things down and bring sanity to the proceedings and bring China back on the court. But when the Chinese team stuck to their stance and refused to return to the court, the referee awarded a forfeit in favour of Syria.
Syria, thus won the game 20-0 and earned two points. China will draw a blank.
