KOR / PHI – Philippines flatter to deceive, Korea win
TEHRAN (FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Men): Last edition’s runners-up Korea pulled ahead towards the end of the second quarter to beat Philippines 98-80 in Group II of the Quarterfinal round on Sunday.
Things went on even terms till Park Jaehyun sunk a three-pointer almost coinciding with the hooter to put Korea ahead 24-23.
Lee Hyosang’s boys never trailed after that.
Philippines managed to lag not too far behind, but Korea tightened the screws moments before half time.
Korea led 50-39 going into the changing rooms and kept the Philippine enthusiasm at bay.
